Poor diet, being overweight and lack of exercise don't necessarily lead to cancer. But they do make it more likely. So it stands to reason that those who have recovered from cancer would be especially motivated to improve their diet and get fitter. But a study has shown that this motivation is not translating into action for cancer survivors:

Of course, taking care of yourself in this way is also important for friends and relatives to help them withstand the stress of supporting someone else who has cancer.
